Before You Enroll…
Do Your Research and consider a number of factors when deciding whether to enter a training program:
What is the cost of the training program?
Some colleges cost less than other colleges…be a smart consumer!
• Will you see a wage increase that would warrant the cost of the
   program?

If you have a background, be certain you will have the ability to get a job in the career you want training in before enrollment.
Check whether most employers in the industry require a DHS screening?
What is the labor market like for a better-training professional?
Is the market significantly saturated with this type of trained labor already?
Will you be able to transfer earned credits to another institution?
What is the accreditation status and professional reputation of the training facility?
You can check a school’s accreditation with the department of education at www.ope.edu.gov/accreditation
Conduct informational interviews and look at actual job requirements before enrolling into a career training.
  Be wary of for-profit colleges.
