Solange Kolie
Regional Vice-PresidentPrimerica Financial Services
Born in Togo, West Africa, Solange Kolie immigrated to America in 2001 in pursuit of better opportunities. Despite facing initial challenges including language barriers and societal obstacles, she successfully established herself in corporate America, beginning her career at Wells Fargo Bank. A pivotal moment came when she witnessed a family struggling financially after losing a loved one, inspiring her to delve deeper into financial planning and education.
Today, Solange is a multifaceted financial professional, serving as both a financial advisor and mortgage loan officer. Her expertise spans investment strategies, retirement planning, wealth management, and life insurance. Driven by her core values of respect, integrity, and excellence, she is particularly passionate about bringing financial education to underrepresented communities, recognizing the critical gap in financial literacy education.
Through workshops and personalized consulting, Solange empowers clients with knowledge about financial security, generational wealth building, and money management. Her unique perspective as an immigrant combined with her comprehensive industry expertise allows her to connect deeply with diverse communities, making complex financial concepts accessible while building lasting relationships with her clients.
Bolade Akinropo
A Chartered Accountant, PMP-certified consultant, and CEO of Wealth Builder Financial Services. With decades of experience in the Financial Services industry, she holds a Masters in Accounting and Finance. Originally from Nigeria, Bolade spent much of her life in the UK before settling in suburban Minnesota. She is passionate about empowering individuals and families through financial literacy, delivering personalized strategies for financial independence and confidence. A proud mother of two young adults, Bolade enjoys traveling, fitness, baking, and event planning, bringing creativity and passion to all she does.
Karen WashingtonA seasoned business owner, a Minnesota native, with over 20 years in the financial industry who's passionate about empowering women leaders, youth and community. Her dedication in helping others extends beyond her coaching practice; Karen is actively involved in non-profit work throughout the cities like Women of Color in Leadership promoting wellness, creativity & restoration.
Moderator: Veronica Deenanath
The co-founder of Emergent Evaluation Group–a consulting firm that uses a system-based equity approach to help organizations understand the impact of their work and a Manager for Program Innovation and Research at the Minnesota Office of Higher Education for the Get Ready Program. Dr. Deenanath received her Ph.D. in Family Social Science with a Program Evaluation emphasis from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and is a Certified Professional Project Manager through the University of St. Thomas. She is passionate about racial equity in education, creating a diverse workforce that is representative of the communities we serve and building wealth for Black, Indigenous, Communities of Color. Her work focuses on college and career access and success, workforce development, immigrant and first-generation college students and families. Her goal is to leverage community expertise to build generational wealth–both tangible and intangible.
